- Google Sheets
- Google Drive
- Gmail
This update is designed to streamline tasks and help users leverage Gemini more efficiently by minimizing the need for repetitive prompting.

Gemini Gems Now Integrated Into Google Workspace
The functionality of Gemini Gems has been expanded, moving beyond the standalone Gemini app and into the side panels of several core Google Workspace applications. This change is designed to help users streamline their workflows and reduce the need for repeated prompts by providing access to custom AI experts directly within their work.
Users can now access both pre-made and custom-built Gems in the side panel of apps like Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, and Gmail. This integration allows for a variety of use cases, including:
- Content creation: A copywriting Gem can be used to generate content that is pre-loaded with specific details about a target audience.
- Sales assistance: A Gem can be created to provide sales-related information and interactions that are based on specific company, prospect, or industry data.
- Role-based assistance: An “assistant Gem” can be tailored to a user’s job role, helping to generate more relevant summaries and content for internal communications.
- Persona-based feedback: Users can leverage a Gem to pressure-test content against a specific persona, such as a CEO, to ensure the message is compelling.
